Nitrocarburizing

Nitrocarburizing is a thermochemical treatment used to produce a hard surface layer on a workpiece containing nitrides and nitrocarbides, forming a compound layer and an underlying diffusion layer. Treatment agents include salt baths, gas, or plasma. (Source: DIN EN ISO 4885)
